Global Missions

First Baptist Clemson has made a 3 year commitment to partner with field personnel in Sub-Saharan Africa by pledging to support them through prayer, education, and resources.  We look forward to the ways God will bless this partnership.

  • Jade and Shelah Acker

The Acker family works in Kampala, Uganda with Refuge and Hope International.  This ministry works with the urban refugee community offering skills and business training, youth and women's ministry, spiritual development, and social work programs.

  • Karen Alford

Karen works in Mbarara, Uganda with Medical Teams International.  MTI's mission and vision is to demonstrate the love of Christ to people affected by disaster, conflict, and poverty.  Karen meets medical needs by working for community education, home visits, registering pregnancies, and helping with pre and post natal care.

  • Lynn and Michael Hutchinson

The Hutchinson's believe that the greatest need for the people of Togo is to know the living God through transforming faith in Christ and develop their gifts to become fully who God designed them to be.  Drawing on the assets and resources of the community, mentoring and equipping, they are helping Togolese discover their full capacity.  Individuals, families, and communities can be transformed as they experience God's love and work together to address local needs.

  • Missy Ward Angalla

Missy works in Kampala, Uganda where she is the refugee women's advocacy coordinator for Refuge and Hope International.  Missy began a program called Amani Sasa, which ministers with refugee women and girls who are traumatized, abused, trafficked and vulnerable to exploitation.  Amani Sasa features a shelter recovery program for young women who have faced severe trauma and exploitation, a school sponsorship program for vulnerable children, two vocational training programs for women at risk, self-help community groups that assist women to save, support and disciple one another, as well as a social work ministry for refugees in crisis.
